Every 5th grader in School District 163 came to Central Park Wetlands in search of wildlife.
They looked in the water for aquatic invertebrates and amphibian larva.
While hiking near the wetland edge birds, flowers, trees and insects where their main focus.
The goal was to find 100 species and most students were successful.
The district provided notebooks to record the young field scientist’s findings.
